The Opportunity
Are you ready to take the next step in your fire service leadership career and make a meaningful impact within the City of Wetaskiwin? The Deputy Chief plays a key leadership role in shaping the future of fire and emergency services within the City of Wetaskiwin. This position offers the chance to combine hands-on operational leadership with strategic oversight, helping to ensure the continued delivery of safe and effective fire services.
As Deputy Chief you will:
- Play a role in influencing the department’s strategy and operational readiness.
- Mentor and develop firefighters.
- Champion training, safety, compliance, and best practices,
- Strengthening community safety through prevention and public education initiatives (partnerships).
- Contribute meaningfully to a collaborative leadership team and serve as a trusted advisor and second-in-command to the Fire Chief.
- Make a visible impact in the community.
