Our Fleet Services team is the backbone of our municipal operations, ensuring that every piece of machinery—from emergency vehicles to heavy road equipment—is safe, reliable, and ready for action.
We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to join our shop. This is a role for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys variety, takes pride in high-quality mechanical work, and wants to see the direct impact of their expertise on the streets of the city they serve.
What is the Opportunity?
Reporting to the Lead, Fleet Services, the Heavy Equipment Technician, is the primary expert responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the City’s diverse fleet of mobile and stationary equipment.
This isn’t your average “assembly line” shop. You will work on a massive range of assets—everything from small engines and automotive units to complex heavy-duty yellow iron and transit buses. You’ll be a technical problem-solver who ensures our departments have the tools they need to serve our citizens safely and efficiently.
