Upcoming Webinar: Protecting At-Risk Seasonal Workers Through Data-Driven OHS Prevention

AMHSA and OHS are jointly hosting a free informational webinar designed to help municipalities and public sector professionals safeguard their seasonal workforce.

As part of Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Association’s (AMHSA) “Start Safe, Stay Safe” at-risk seasonal workers campaign, AMHSA has partnered with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) to deliver a one-hour webinar (45-minute presentation, 15-minute Q&A) on July 22.

The webinar will be delivered by OHS’ Effective Practices Specialist Team Lead, and the session will spotlight WCB injury, illness, and fatality statistics, highlight available tools and resources, and provide actionable strategies to prevent workplace incidents before they happen. Registrants can expect to learn how to:

  • Identify the hazards faced by seasonal workers and implement prevention techniques
  • Apply knowledge to enhance safety practices and reduce hazards faced by seasonal workers
  • Locate and explain the resources available to prepare for the onboarding of seasonal workers

The webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 11:00am – 12:00pm.

Use this link to register as well as submit questions in advance. If you cannot attend live, a recording will be sent to all registrants.

As part of the campaign, AMHSA has created a range of resources intended to help onboard seasonal workers safely and confidently. Visit this online resource to find toolkits, training programs and guidance designed to support seasonal workers and assist in identifying and mitigating hazards.
