RMA Convention Breakout Session – Proposal Form

Breakout sessions are a highlight of RMA conventions, as they present an important opportunity for members to learn about and discuss key issues. RMA aims to deliver sessions that support the effective operation of municipalities and speak to the roles and responsibilities of local leaders.

RMA is currently seeking breakout session proposals. While priority will be given to proposals from full RMA members, submissions from non-members will also be considered if the content is relevant to the municipal context.

Proposals are welcome on an ongoing basis and will be considered by RMA for upcoming conventions.

Note: submissions to be considered for Fall 2026 are due by EOD Wednesday, July 29th. Any submissions received after July 29th will be considered for 2027 programming.

Responsibilities of Proposing Organization

Please be aware of the following in advance of submitting a proposal:

  • Submitting a proposal does not guarantee selection. RMA will only follow up with those selected.
  • RMA may revise or modify proposals.
  • RMA may combine multiple related or complementary proposals into one workshop.
  • RMA expects the proposing organization to take an active role (in partnership with RMA) in confirming presenters, developing content, etc.
  • The proposing organization must be able to dedicate time or capacity to contribute to the development of the workshop.
  • RMA is ultimately responsible for finalization of the content and format of all workshops, including final approval of speakers and presentations.
