ARMA Accepting Grant Program Applications

The Alberta Recycling Management Authority (ARMA) is accepting applications for grant programs that are specific to municipalities.

Used Oil Materials Support Grant

The Used Oil Materials Support Grant is designed to improve the management of used oil, oil filters, and empty oil containers at landfills, transfer stations, and recycling depots.

  • Funding is available for registered used oil collection sites, including municipalities, regional waste authorities/commissions, and First Nations or Métis Settlements for the development and delivery of infrastructure related to used oil collection.
  • Funding is based on the actual expenses incurred in completing the project and is determined on a case-by-case basis, up to a maximum of $15,000 per site, and is provided on a 50/50 matching basis for eligible expenses.
  • Applications close at 4:30 pm on May 30, 2025. Applications will be assessed throughout June, with project commencement beginning in July.
  • See ARMA’s Used Oil Materials Support Grant Funding Guide.

Beyond-the-Bin Recycling Roundup Grant

Formerly known as the Municipal Recycling Roundup Grant, the Beyond-the-Bin Recycling Roundup Grant provides funding on a matching basis to cover the costs associated with hosting a Recycling Roundup event, including advertising, related expenses, and fees for electronics and paint material collection.

  • Funding is available for municipalities, regional waste authorities/commissions, and First Nations or Métis Settlements.
  • Applications opened on April 1, 2025, and will remain open until March 31, 2026. Applicants must apply at least 30 days before the event to allow time for advertising.
  • See ARMA’s 2025-2026 Beyond-the-Bin Recycling Roundup Grant Application Guide.
