Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has a permanent, full-time position available for a Sign Technician (Maintenance Service Worker IV). Reporting to the General Foreman, you are responsible for identifying the requirements for traffic control devices; installing, removing and maintaining signs and guard rails; and other traffic control devices. The ability to effectively coordinate work to accomplish objectives in an efficient manner; keep accurate, detailed and legible records and track inventory; deal effectively with the public and other staff members and work independently are required.

Rate of Pay: $32.96 per hour
Hours of Work: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week.
This position is covered by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955 Collective Agreement.
Requirements:
- Experience with the installation of traffic control devices, Alberta First Call Process, and the Uniform Traffic Control Devices of Canada manual are required.
- Experience operating a folding boom crane with a mounted auger.
- Experience with computer applications and data entry is required.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License is required; a Class 3 Operators License with Q (air) endorsement is desirable. Upon hire, a current commercial driver’s abstract must be provided.
