Vegetation Management Personnel (Spray Crew Workers)

Key Responsibilities Include:

Parkland County has Temporary, Full-time, summer positions available in the Agricultural Services Department for Vegetation Management Personnel (Spray Crew Workers). Successful candidates will perform a variety of duties including roadside and subdivision vegetation management using selective herbicides, mechanical or manual applications for weed & brush control, as well as other related duties. The ability to deal with the public effectively and courteously and maintain accurate reports is required.

Rate of Pay: $28.36 per hour (Licensed Applicator) $25.47 per hour (Unlicensed Applicator)
Hours of Work: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week (May 1 to approximately August 30, 2019)

This position is covered by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955 Collective Agreement.

Requirements:

High School Diploma supplemented by current enrollment or completion of post-secondary education in Agriculture or a related field.

Valid Alberta Pesticide Applicator's License or the ability to obtain one.

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Upon hire, a current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.

An agricultural background would be an asset.
