Parkland County has a Permanent, Full-time position available in the Public Works Department for a Surfacing Foreman. Reporting to the Manager, Road Maintenance Services, this position is responsible for the coordination of staff, activities, equipment and other resources required to carry out road maintenance programs throughout Parkland County. Programs include repair and rehabilitation of asphaltic surfaces, gravel road oil dust control program and the annual road re-gravelling program. This position requires the ability to communicate and maintain an effective, courteous, and tactful service relationship with internal contacts and external customers.
Rate of Pay: $77,120 to $96,400 per annum Hours of Work: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week Benefits: Extensive benefits are offered.
High School Diploma is required.
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution is desirable.
The applicable designation as a Professional Engineer, Certified Engineering Technologist or Professional Technologist (Eng) is considered an asset.
5 years related experience in a supervisory capacity is required.
5 years directly related experience in construction and maintenance of roadways is required.
5 years’ experience working with asphaltic materials and dust control products is required.
Experience with the use of Asset Management Systems and office software applications is required.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License current satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required. A Class 3Q license is considered an asset.
