The Town of Morinville is currently seeking a full time Supervisor, Payroll & Benefits to join the Human Resources team. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Supervisor will lead the overall compensation and benefits functions and operations with support of the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator as a direct report. This team will ensure that appropriate strategies are in place for the effective, efficient, timely and accurate delivery of compensation and benefit plans and programs.
As the subject matter expert for all payroll and benefits related functions, the Supervisor manages the daily workflow of the functional area. Responsibilities include planning, assessment, evaluation and implementation of compensation and benefits programs, policies and procedures that align with the Town’s goals and plans while ensuring consistent day to day operations that are compliant with legislation and internal policies and agreements.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Oversee procedures and processes and manage inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll and benefit administration;
- Primary role in payroll administration will be to review, approve, and support on complex matters and issue resolution; secondary role as back-up payroll processor.
- Ensure effective program delivery and compliance through analytics and reporting, account reconciliations, leave entitlement management, policy and procedure development and implementation.
- Administer all compensation related programs including Payroll, Group Benefits, Pension (LAPP), and WCB, S/LTD related issues (i.e. Claims, Leaves, Pension, Benefit Impacts, etc.).
- Manage and maintain specialized Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS), other services and applications, such as the Town’s Human Capital Management (HCM) software, and Ceridian Dayforce which includes payroll, talent and workforce management systems. Responsible for related systems including pension (LAPP) program, benefit program and WCB.
