Supervisor of Control Systems

The City of Camrose is seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the full-time permanent role of Supervisor of Control Systems. This positon will be responsible for providing a wide variety of Electrical and Instrumentation installations, maintenance and systems integration throughout the City.

HOURS OF WORK: Hours of work are typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. After-hours work may occasionally be assigned including emergency response.

Key Responsibilities Include:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):

Water and Waste Water Systems

Install, program and maintain of all PLC’s, HMI’s and SCADA control systems, in control of pumping and treatment facilities.

Install and maintain all measurement devices and controlled equipment such as actuators, variable frequency drives, soft starts, motor control centres.

Install and maintain electrical infrastructure from changing ballasts to installing panels, including large-scale installations, such as the Lake station generator.

Assist operators, consultants and contractors with installations, start-ups and general operations of stations.

Provide on call services for after hour emergency services.

Transportation

Maintain traffic control devices including pedestrian/traffic signals and control cabinets. Coordinate contractor maintenance and construction projects.

Provide capital project upgrade suggestions and monitor operating budgets for traffic signals.

Provide on call services for after hour services.

Communication

Work in conjunction with IT services on planning and installation of citywide fibre network.

Assist IT to install, maintain and troubleshoot Utilities fibre, Ethernet and wireless communications.

Provide locating services for all citywide communications, fibre and underground electrical infrastructure in response to Alberta One Call.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master Red Seal Journeyman Electrician.

Minimum of two (2) years Process Control Experience.

Red Seal Instrumentation or Post-secondary Diploma in Instrumentation Technology would be an asset.

International Municipal Signal Association Traffic Signals 1 or equivalent would be an asset.

Certificate in Utility Line locating would be an asset.

Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
