About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Lead, Marketing & Visual Design, the Storyteller focuses on creating and producing compelling and inspiring content that tells the story of Leduc and the City of Leduc for elevating the reputation of our city. Working with the rest of the Communications and Marketing Services team members, this position utilizes storytelling and visual expression to enhance the service of the Communications and Marketing Services Department to internal and external partners, contributing to advancing the Communications and Marketing Strategic Plan, the City’s Strategic Plan, the Corporate Business Plan and a one-City culture.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Responsibilities of the Storyteller include, but are not limited to:
Lead the development of story strategy and calendar for Leduc and the City by working with internal and external partners
Identify opportunities and create content to support the local, regional and global reputation of Leduc and the City of Leduc
Write and produce quality content, taking into account conventions and limitations of different media platforms, i.e. social media, blogs, printed collateral,
electronic newsletters, etc.
Liaise with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for collaboration
Liaise with internal partners to support ongoing marketing initiatives
Track analytics, report on progress and recommend opportunities for improvement
Support development of marketing and communication plans
Design and produce promotional, educational and event materials that support story and marketing strategies
Provide graphic design support
Plan, shoot and edit video content for public consumption
Contribute to ensuring brand alignment on City’s assets
Assist with coordinating and maintaining information on the web and social media platforms
Identify imagery needs and help contribute to the photo and video library
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in digital media production, visual design, marketing, communications or public relations experience, including experience in: storytelling, content creation, photography, videography, graphic design, social media and web development. A post-secondary diploma in digital media production, visual design, communications, marketing or public relations is required. Experience working in a municipal environment and/or government body will be considered an asset.
