• Demonstrate leadership and direction to the departments billing and account receivable personnel.


• Provide support to finance and internal departments regarding general ledger coding, costing, and variance reports.


• Prepare and reconcile journal entries monthly.


• Review accounts and prepare the reconciliations of operating and capital projects.


• Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly variance reports and quarterly financial statements.


• Maintain grant portfolio and assist internal departments with compliance to ensure funding aligns with the PSAS government transfer regulations.


• Reconcile monthly bank statements and GST returns on a timely basis.


• Assist with compilation of yearend.


• Support investment tracking and cash forecasting process.


• Ensure accurate maintenance of the bank account, balance, bank/treasury systems and bank cost information.


• Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and problem resolution to corporate and department representatives involved with revenue accounting processes.  Interpret and clarify policy to ensure consistent application throughout the M.D. to comply with the Public Sector Accounting Standards.


• Ensure accounting processes for the transfer of funds to and from reserves continue to align actual expenses, budget approvals, department requests and compliance with M.D. procedures, policy, and the Public Sector Accounting Standards.


• Process funding of reserve transactions by investigating historic transactions, reviewing, and analyzing current funding requests to determine if the funding is consistent with the initial intended purpose and eligibility.


• Prepare detailed management reports and summary continuity schedules for, receivables, deferred revenue, and reserve activity.


• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.


• Strong ability to extract information and develop reports.


• Strong computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret and communicate procedures and internal controls.


• Strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy; analyze problems and develop solutions with minimum of supervision.


• Effective organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills to prioritize and complete tasks within restricted timelines while ensuring exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
