Parkland County has a permanent, full-time position available within the Planning & Development Services Department for a Safety Codes Officer I - Building. Reporting to the Supervisor, Safety Codes Services, the Safety Codes Officer I - Building conducts preliminary plan and document reviews prior to permit approval and inspects building construction and mechanical systems for compliance. This position is also responsible for completion of written inspection reports and entering inspection records on the electronic system and acts as the liaison to industry, the public and staff. In addition to effective coordination, work scheduling and time management skills, this position requires excellent written and verbal communication in terminology that can be readily understood by the applicants based on their level of industry knowledge.
Rate of Pay: Competitive salary to be commensurate with education and experience.
Hours of Work: 7 hours/day; 35 hours/week
