Key Responsibilities Include:
The Safety Codes Officer (Building) is integral to all aspects of the safety code permit cycle. This includes assisting the public/contractors with their submission of a complete safety code permit application, undertaking plan exam reviews, issuing of permits, inspecting buildings and closing permits when complete. The Officer is part of a team responsible to apply and enforce the National Building Codes - Alberta Edition in alignment with Foothills County Quality Management Plan.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, the ability to work independently while exercising good judgement and sound decision making. The position also requires the candidate to have or be working towards Part 9 and Part 3 of the Building Code including HVAC Residential.
