The Ideal Candidate:
- MUST have a minimum grade 12 diploma or GED
- a minimum five (5) years of experience related to road construction, maintenance, and Public Works operations
- a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience
- class 1 Operator’s Licence
- certification in or is willing to obtain certification in WHMIS, Ground Disturbance, Trenching & Excavation (supervisory level), TDG, First Aid, Overhead Travelling Crane, and Leadership in Safety Excellence
- safety program experience
- certification in or is willing to obtain certification in Level 1 Water Treatment/Distribution & Level 1 Wastewater Collection/Treatment
- certification in Skill Assessor-Powered Mobile Equipment, APWA Public Works Supervisor Level 1, Certified Engineering Technologist, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or other related disciplines considered assets
- experience operating equipment, trucks, and working on construction projects
- ability to use technology and software related to Municipal operations
- well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- display a high degree of confidentiality, time management, planning, leadership, and delegation skills
This is a permanent full-time position, based on 40 hours per week. The Village of Empress offers a competitive compensation and benefit package including LAPP and annual holiday pay. Annual Salary: $58,000. Approved overtime may be required from time to time to meet seasonal objectives and timelines. Please note that the successful candidate must have a minimum grade 12 diploma or GED and will be required to supply a suitable Driver’s Abstract and an acceptable Criminal Record check.
