Key Responsibilities Include:
Reporting to the Director of Public Works, the Public Works Operations Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of staff as well as the planning, organizing and directing of road and solid waste management programs. Sound analytical skills will be required to review Public Works data and identify efficiencies that may lead to improved services and cost reductions to service. Previous experience in project management including planning, budgeting, cost estimating and scheduling is preferred.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate will bring a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience, including three (3) years supervisory experience, in a municipal transportation setting, including experience with rural road construction, maintenance standards and bridge inspections. You have demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring skills combined with effective organizational and problem-solving abilities. You are an excellent communicator and have a proven track record of establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Ability to problem solve, collaborate and resolve conflicts are essential skills for this role. Preference may be given to those who possess a Civil Engineering Technologist diploma or related education.
