Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has a temporary, full-time position available in the Engineering Services Department for a Project Technician from end of November 2020 to approximately December 2021.
Reporting to the Manager, Capital Construction, the Project Technician will provide general technical direction and assistance with special projects and programs, with a focus on monitoring and reporting on road and approach crossings, utility coordination and construction support.
Additional miscellaneous construction related duties will be required as assigned, including support for Project Officers, bridge file inspections, surveying, and traffic data assistance.
Completed post-secondary education in a Civil Engineering related program with eligibility for certification in the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta
Excellent organizational skills are required to handle multiple deadlines and tasks in a high-paced work environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to learn new processes and programs is required
Must be able to demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
Must possess strong analytical capabilities, such as critical thinking and reasoning and qualitive and quantitative analytics
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Upon hire, a current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
Rate of Pay: $80,000 per annum
Hours of Work: 7 hours/day; 35 hours/week
