Reporting to the Director, Legislative Services, the Policy Coordinator is responsible for the development and management of the council and corporate policy program.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Key researcher, developer, and drafter of Council and administrative policies.
Provide direction and recommendations to Subdivision and Development Appeal Board Policy Coordinator
Provide recommendations to departments in policy and procedure development.
Administer the corporate policy program and maintain an accurate and current database of policies.
Leads policy analysis, research, program, and process development with a focus on quality assurance and improvement.
Work with departments to develop policies, strategies, and program recommendations to improve service quality and service user experience.
Develop and deliver training programs, presentations, and materials for staff, and Council to support the corporate policy program.
Prepare Council reports, research analysis, briefing notes, presentations and other policy reports and recommendations as required.
Maintain and update the library of administrative policies and procedures.
Act with integrity in a professional and responsible manner at all times.
Display a professional and ethical responsibility to protect privacy, use information appropriately, and maintain the confidentiality and security of all information related to employees, business and residents of Rocky View County.
Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field along with a minimum three years of progressively responsible and diversified office experience in a municipal and/or legal environment.
Experience in project management including project design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
Experience in policy analysis, planning, and development.
Experience in writing comprehensive complex and formal reports
Experience in system analysis definitely an asset.
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
Experience with public speaking.
Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
Possess above-average skills in written communication including the composition of minutes, letters, and reports, and in grammar, spelling and clarity.
Demonstrated initiative and innovation in identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate changes within designated authority.
Strong organizational and time management skills including managing workloads and working effectively under the pressure of time limitations and constraints.
Commitment to cooperative teamwork with a positive attitude, approachability, and ability to foster a positive work environment.
Demonstrated superior customer service skills with internal and external customers.
