The Planning & Development Department of Red Deer County has a full-time, permanent position for a dynamic and highly motivated Planning & Development Support Assistant to supplement our ongoing focus in the delivery of customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Under the direction of the Planning & Development Administration Coordinator, this position provides administrative support to the Planning & Development Services area.
Duties of the Planning & Development Support Assistant position include, but are not limited to:
Receiving, recording, and preparing correspondence and reports; organizing, creating, and maintaining records and files; organizing, creating, and maintaining databases; and organizing, creating, and maintaining any related record keeping and documentation for the department.
Organizing, recording, and maintaining records regarding development permits and renewals from application to issuance of permit, land use, zoning, and related information.
Provide excellent customer service and public relations via correspondence, on the telephone, or in person.
Completion of grade twelve (12) high school diploma, supplemented by completion of a post-secondary administration certificate or diploma program plus a minimum of four (4) years of office administration experience. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a very busy work environment.
High degree of accuracy in work processing (MS Word), databases (MS Access), and spreadsheets (MS Excel); experience with preparing MS PowerPoint presentations is considered an asset.
Criminal Record check is required.
Experience in a local government environment is considered an asset.
Additional Information This is a permanent, full-time position (35 hours/week), Monday through Friday.
