Starland County is seeking a highly motivated and intelligent individual to join our team as the PHP Developer / IT Technician. The applicant should be comfortable navigating computer networks, hardware and software and demonstrate an eagerness to learn and understand new systems. The County is looking to further expand the services offered to our employees and citizens through further developing our own web-based technologies. Ideally the applicant would have experience with the PHP programming language and the Laravel framework, however experience with any programming language will be considered. The IT technician side of the job is primarily managing a simple network and basic desktop support.
Ideally the candidate enjoys living in or near a rural community and enjoys less stressful commutes, clean air, lower crime, and a lower cost of living.
The successful candidate must have effective communication, attention to detail and respect all confidentiality requirements.
The applicant must already be able to work in Canada. This full-time permanent position will normally work Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. although there may be occasional work outside those hours. The successful candidate will be required to provide a criminal record check and must be bondable. A competitive salary and excellent benefits package are available. Due to the hands-on nature of offering IT support to staff, this position is for on-site work only.
