We are looking for a Parks, Recreation and Facilities Manager, who will collaborate, support, and lead a dedicated team to focus on continuous improvement, fulfil service level requirements, as well as manage emergent concerns in an effective and efficient manner!
Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and skills, consisting of an annual salary plus a generous benefits package based on a 40-hour week.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Oversee and supervise Service Branch staff and contracts
Participate in Community Services Department strategic planning within the Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department
Provide financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring for annual operating and capital budgets, as well as multi-year financial plans
Ensure parks, open spaces, trails, sports fields, and municipal building grounds and sidewalks are maintained to required seasonal standards, policies, and within available Town resources
Ensure the operations of Town owned and operated recreation and cultural facilities, as well as programs and services, are managed within standards, policies, and available Town resources
Responsible for the management and planning of capital maintenance projects, security, safety and the ongoing operations, maintenance, and improvements of all municipal owned buildings
Ensure that Town’s physical spaces, assets, systems, and equipment aligns with the organization’s Strategic Plan
Ensure appropriate safety and risk management policies, directives, and procedures are in place and followed

Post-Secondary Degree in Recreation or Business Administration/Management or a related field
5 years progressive supervisory and leadership experience with the ability to mentor, coach and inspire others
A combination of education and/or experience related to this position will be considered
Practical knowledge and understanding of Municipal policies, procedures, and processes as well as a working knowledge of recreation programming, greenspace management, facility maintenance & management.
Knowledge of project management essentials is an asset
Knowledge of safety standards and practices, grant funding and reporting requirements, and budget preparation and administration
Ability to mediate and problem solve multifaceted situations
Satisfactory background screening is required for this position including a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check
A Class 5 Driver’s License with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
