Leduc County is looking for an experienced and highly motivated seasonal Parks Custodian and Maintenance Worker to join our team. Reporting to the Community Facilities Coordinator, this exciting opportunity maintains the condition and appearance of the facilities and grounds at Jubilee Park on Wizard Lake. As a member of the Parks and Recreation team, the Parks Custodian & Maintenance Worker is a key contributor to the achievement of the department’s operational deliverables.

Key Responsibilities Include:
What you will do
Contributes to the operation of the department’s programs by performing work safely and adhering to technical and municipal standards.
Responsibilities include cleaning outhouses, bathrooms and other public facilities and buildings
Maintains individual and common area fire pits, collects and removes trash and recyclables, and empties trash receptacles.
Inspects and operates various equipment and machinery to maintain all park amenities.
Provides excellent customer service and park information to patrons and visitors.
Assists with season opening and closing maintenance of the campgrounds.
Adhere to guidelines as set out in Leduc County’s policies and administrative directives.
Accountable for working in compliance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and participation in the Health, Safety and Wellness Program.
Performs related duties as required and assigned.
What you need to succeed
A service focus with good communication and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and ensure mutual understanding and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures and prioritize tasks and work independently. A valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
Nice to have
A high school diploma, one (1) year of maintenance experience in the operation of lawn mowers, grass trimmers and other lawn care equipment.

We offer a competitive hourly wage between $17.95-$23.09. This opportunity is seasonal full-time and is 40 hours per week scheduled Monday to Friday, with the possibly of some extended hours to meet operational requirements.
The work location is Julibee Park Campground at Wizard Lake. The Leduc County office is located at 101-1101 5 St. Nisku, AB.
