The Town of Stony Plain Corporate Services department is currently recruiting for a permanent full-time Network Support Analyst. Under the supervision of the Manager of Technology Services, this position is responsible for supporting and maintaining all aspects of the Town’s Technology portfolio including support of desktop, thin client, server, and network technologies. This position also supports the Town’s Telecommunications infrastructure along with video streaming devices and software.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Responds to user requests for software and hardware assistance. Work with the IT team to identify and prioritize issues while developing possible solutions in a collaborative team environment.
Investigate, assess and resolve hardware and software issues including but not limited to desktops, laptops, thin clients, servers (physical and virtual), phone systems, mobile devices, switches, and firewalls.
Support Council meeting audio visual systems including projection, audio, and streaming systems.
Provide IT assistance for Town events, vendor training and department meetings as required.
Oversee installation and upgrades of PC, laptops, mobile, telecommunication, thin clients, and printer systems.
Under direction of the Technology Services Manager, provide support for the Town’s information security systems, process development, audit, compliance, monitoring, and training.
Work closely with the Manager of Technology Services to coordinator technology procurement in accordance with the Town’s budget, policies and procedures.
Develop and deliver training seminars as necessitated by software enhancements, new equipment and procedural changes.
Responsible for daily operational support of the Town’s telecommunications systems and provides support and input towards the strategic direction of the infrastructure.
Oversee the daily administration of the Town’s Information Management, Financial, Print, and GIS infrastructure; located both on premise and in Software as a Service (SaaS) configurations.
Participate in planning and execution of moves, adds, and changes to network, application, systems access.
Oversee technology-specific documentation for onboarding/offboarding of employees.
Develop and deliver IT Orientation and training to all new hires.
Support the department in an ITIL Process based environment. Provide input and support for processes such as Incident Management, Request Fulfillment, Problem Management, and Change Management/
Assist the organization Service Transition activities including but not limited to Release and Deployment Management, Software and Assets Configuration Management, and Knowledge Management.
Provide input to ITIL Service Strategy and Service Design tasks including but not limited to Service Portfolio Management, Demand Management, Service Level Management of Vendors, and Availability Management.
Support and compliance with the Town’s Health and Safety program.
Participate in the Town’s Information Management program and support Records and Information Management policies and procedures.
This position is required to work a modified schedule in order to accommodate scheduled maintenance periods, upgrades, and replacement of system infrastructure.
Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Technology Services.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology along with 3-5 years’ experience in a role that includes supporting desktop, telecommunications, mobile and server technologies. Previous municipal experience and professional designations related to the field are preferred. Excellent time management, effective interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills will ensure your success in this position. The incumbent must have the ability to analyze, asses a variety of information and propose creative IT solutions to the organization. Experience working with Citrix XenDesktop, Municipal Enterprise Resource Program, Hyland OnBase, and Shortel/Mitel are considered an asset.
