Lethbridge County is currently recruiting for a Municipal Finance Intern. To be eligible for this partially grant-funded opportunity, you must have completed a post-secondary program in Finance or Accounting after January 1, 2020.

This program is in partnership with Municipal Affairs and comes with a training plan and requirements to be completed over the course of the 18-month term. This opportunity will also include networking with other interns and attending related professional development.
To get the most out of this opportunity, we are looking at a quick turnaround to onboard the Municipal Intern. However, this role will only be filled if a suitable candidate is found. This will be an 18-month contract paid a biweekly salary totaling $76,000 - $81,000 over the 18-month term. This position will be eligible for health and dental benefits during the term and will be scheduled for 35-hour work weeks.
Completed a post-secondary program in Finance or Accounting after January 1, 2020
Interest or passion to work in local government - this program was implemented to help build future municipal leaders
Willing to dig into relevant subject matter and apply education and skills to support financial best practices
Ability to share financial information to various stakeholders in an effective manner
Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing and the ability to present in public
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Exceptional time management and organization skills
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing
