The County of Wetaskiwin is seeking a full time Motor Grader Operator for Patrol Area 11, an area located north and south of the Hamlet of Buck Lake in the County of Wetaskiwin.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Reporting to the Road Maintenance Foreman at the Winfield Public Works Shop, the successful candidate will be responsible for grading, snowplowing and the general maintenance of 157 km of local gravelled roads. Other duties include public works operations, strict adherence to the County safety program, equipment care, and equipment maintenance. Hours of work are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or as required.
Earned a minimum of a Grade 10 education. Vocational training as and heavy equipment operator is considered an asset;
Undergone Construction related Safety training;
Possess a valid driver’s license and clean abstract; a Class 3 license is preferred;
Have a minimum of two years motor grader operating experience and a general background in heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
Be reasonably fit with the ability to change cutting blades without assistance;
Be able to work long hours when required;
Demonstrate an ability to work independently and possess good communication skills.
