The Job
The Town of Edson is looking for a skilled, full-time, permanent Mechanic to maintain and repair a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they run safely and reliably. Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, your responsibilities will include routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, welding, cutting, and keeping detailed maintenance records. You will also provide input on major repairs and new purchases, while actively participating in workplace inspections to uphold safety protocols.
The Candidate
We are seeing an experienced HD mechanic with a dual trade certification, ideally with expertise in both automotive and small equipment repair. You will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team, all while following safety protocols. If you’re hands-on, love solving mechanical problems, and take pride in keeping equipment in top shape, this is the job for you.
In addition to the above, we require applicants to have the following:
- Grade Twelve Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Alberta Class 3 Driver’s License with air brakes
- Provide all necessary tools to conduct the work of a mechanic
- Perform work under limited supervision

Compensation
The wage range for this position is $45.52 – $47.23 per hour, as per the current CUPE Local 2838 contract.
