Marketing and Social Media Coordinator
Temporary Fulltime (up to 18 months)
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Communications Officer, the Marketing and Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating marketing strategies and campaigns for the Town of Drumheller; promoting special events; attending tradeshows and fairs; and market research. They will be a communications and social media guru, with a passion for developing creative, timely and impactful communications for both internal and external audiences.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing and coordinating communications through Social Media, Digital Signage, and Traditional Media while maintain and strong visual branding presence
Supporting the development of the annual communications plan including specific marketing projects and deliverables based on organizational objectives
Supporting website design, updates and ensuring accuracy of content
Attending tradeshows, bridal fairs or other similar event on behalf of the Town
Developing, and implementing marketing campaigns in collaboration with the Recreation and Community Events teams
Provides back up for Communications Officer when away
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Post-Secondary education in Marketing, Advertising, Tourism/Hospitality, Brand Management, Digital media or Communications
1-3 years experience supporting Marketing and Social Media campaigns, or Communications for an organization
Strong understanding of how to structure communications and deliver messaging in a positive manner
A keen eye for detail, and proficiency with the written word
Ability to create communications under tight timelines and in emergent scenarios
A passion for communications and helping drive culture both internally and externally.
Hands on experience with Adobe Suite, Microsoft Suite, Social Media Platforms, Digital Marketing, Website Management
Confident communicator and public speaker
Strong copywriting skills and design skills
Ability to work under minimal supervision and to tight deadlines
Bondable, Able to submit to the Criminal Records Check
Valid Alberta Class 5 – Driver's License (or equivalent)
Employment Category: Full-Time Temporary (up to 18 months)
Hours per Week: 37.5 hours – Monday to Friday – some early morning, evening and weekend work is required depending on demands.
Pay Scale: Based on CUPE 4604 – Program Coordinator 1 – 21.35/hour to 24.97/hour
Benefits: As per the Town’s HR Policy and CUPE 4604 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
