Manager, Total Rewards and Human Resource Systems
Permanent, full-time – 35 hours per week
$100,737.00 - $125,925.80 / annum

We are currently recruiting for a permanent, full time Manager, Total Rewards & Human Resource Systems.
About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Manager, Total Rewards and Human Resource (HR) Systems is responsible for a portfolio of HR services which include: managing the total compensation system, job evaluations, benefits and pension programs/administration, abilities management and related ad-hoc projects and negotiations while also supporting the implementation of a new integrated finance and human resources information management system. This position ensures that the development, implementation and maintenance of programs, policies and practices within Total Rewards and HR Systems areas of operation are aligned with organization and goals and initiatives. This position will be an experienced generalist who operates as part of a full-service HR management team.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Supervises, directs, coaches, trains, mentors, supports and develops the Total Rewards and HR Systems team and aligns team vision, strategy, and outcomes with organizational goals, strategic plans and business needs
- Manages workloads to support the design, implementation and maintenance of total rewards and related programs through technology solutions
- Manages the regular administration of payroll, pension and benefits functions
- Leads the job evaluation function, including conducting job evaluation process, confirming the classification of all jobs, maintaining evaluation records, and providing justification for classification appeals
- Maintains integrity of the compensation framework through the administration, support, training and delivery of compensation programs and processes (i.e. annual merit cycle, promotions, pay equity, analytics, reporting, etc.)
- Develops/amends HR policies and practices to achieve alignment with total compensation philosophy and legislation
- Provides strategic and operational insight for the development, implementation and maintenance of a new integrated finance and human resources information management system and associated processes, procedures and workflows
- Serves as the subject matter expert on the total rewards offering and the high-level business requirements, processes, and workflows of all Human Resources technology solutions
- Ensures successful systems implementation through change management best practices
- Regularly provides status updates and reports on the programs, projects and services within the portfolio to ensure transparency, integrity and promote effective communication
- Participates in ad-hoc projects on total rewards and continuous improvement initiatives to support the long term strategic direction of the organization
- Recommends and implements changes which create efficiencies in all aspects of HR functions and systems
- Ensures the successful execution of total rewards and HR systems by effectively managing people, processes, technology and tools
- Provides collaborative support for team members in other areas of HR (i.e. workforce management, professional and leadership development, succession planning, recruitment, etc.)
Requirements:
You are the successful candidate for this position if you have the following:
- Degree in Human Resources or related business discipline (a combination of education and progressive related experience may be considered)
- Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation
- Certified Employee Benefit (CEBS) and/or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation an asset
- Additional credentials in HRIS/HCM information management, or a closely related field, is considered an asset
- 7 years of progressive HR experience in an HR generalist environment, including 5 years of supervisory experience
- 5 years of progressive experience in total rewards, payroll, pension and benefit administration and related strategies and models
- Previous experience implementing or working very closely with an HRIS system
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in program design and administration of compensation, job evaluation, payroll, group benefits, and defined benefit pension plans
- Experience leading a dynamic team, including coaching, mentoring and providing technical guidance
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to effectively multitask and manage competing timelines
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and financial modeling skills
- Ability to communicate technical material to various audiences internally and externally, including senior management
- Demonstrated ability to lead effective meetings in support of diverse projects and initiatives to a broad variety of audiences
- Strong business research, writing, presentation, and persuasion skills
- A commitment to quality and investing in results that add value to the organization
- Generalist knowledge in other areas of Human Resources such as workforce management, change management, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management and employee relations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers
- Advanced understanding of Excel and database management; HRIS experience required
- Knowledge of HR, legislative and payroll policies/practices
- Must be willing to provide a current Criminal Records Check
