What you will bring to the position…
- Degree or diploma (or equivalent) in an IT related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of in-depth experience in IT Services; experience in a leadership role would be considered an asset
- Experience with GIS applications (e.g., Geomedia)
- The following knowledge / training and experience would be required for this position:
- Software installation and maintenance
- SQL database development / administration
- Computer maintenance / configuration / repair
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Helpdesk support
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics accounting software is considered an asset
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid Class 5 Alberta drivers’ licence
- Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently to meet deadlines
- Effective interpersonal communication skills especially for dealing with problem situations related to IT or security system support services
- Effective problem solving skills
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to think logically and analytically
- An aptitude for and interest in math and science
- Effective written communication skills
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Working Conditions:
- This position works a 5 day work week, Monday to Friday, with one day off in a 3 week cycle; hours of work: standard 37.5 hour work week
- Indoor and outdoor working environment with work surroundings that may vary from clean and well ventilated to cold and dusty
- May be required to lift and carry computer components weighing up to 25 kg.
