We are currently recruiting for a permanent full-time Manager, Enterprise Technology Services.
About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Manager, Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) is responsible for providing leadership to the Enterprise Technology Services team, which focuses on the City’s IT infrastructure and the day-to-day operational requests coordinated through the City’s Service Desk. This includes ensuring stable operation of the City’s IT infrastructure including developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly server infrastructure, network infrastructure, and telecommunications systems. The Manager, ETS is also responsible for the management and evergreening of end user devices which includes desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers. As the senior custodian of the City’s Information Technology (IT) assets and support services, strategic decision making is required to maximize the capabilities and benefits derived from these assets and services by City of Leduc business units. The Manager, ETS will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. As an experienced administrator and visionary, the Manager, ETS is a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to strategically lead and facilitate discussions and provide technical expertise as a technology knowledge expert within Corporate Information and Technology.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
• Leading, supervising and performance management of a team, ensuring staff adhere to industry standards and best practices
• Ensure quality planning and forecasting both for short and long-term goals in alignment with the Corporate Strategic Plan and Business Unit operations
• Ensure written procedures are in place for all duties and responsibilities related to areas of responsibility
• Provide advice, recommendations and coordinate all hardware and software purchases, developing and overseeing a 3-year operating budget and 10-year capital budget
• Responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operational security of IT applications and infrastructure services, systems and assets
• Strategically schedule and manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrades and support of all IT systems, including servers, end-user computers, operating systems, hardware, software and peripherals, without hindering daily operational requirements
• Manage, negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer and consultant/vendor contracts and service agreements (Vendor relationships including contract negotiation, SLA’s, technology road maps, etc.)
• Provide for the continued development of the functional area through the management of resources, providing training, implementing new ideas and technology, municipal partnerships and other innovative approaches to problem solving
Requirements:
You are the successful candidate for this position if you have the following:
• Degree in Computer Sciences, Applied Information Systems, or Technology from a recognized institution
• Equivalent College Diploma with 10 years relative experience may also be considered
• Project Management is an asset
• ITIL 4 Certification is an asset
• 7 years of management/leadership experience in an IT service delivery/operations environment where IT best practice processes have been successfully implemented, inclusive of 5 years supervisory experience
• Strong project management experience preferably in the development and implementation of business solutions
• Strong knowledge in implementation, management and continuous improvement of IT Service Management best practice processes (i.e. ITIL)
• Strong knowledge of network/PC operating systems, hardware/server protocols and standards, virtualization technologies (VMware, ESXi, SRM, and Horizon)
• Extensive knowledge of technology issues relevant to customer service in an IT environment, end user computing management, and quality client services processes
• Thorough knowledge of public sector business planning and capital/operating budget preparation, and organization’s goals and objectives
• Current on technology trends, products and service delivery models
• Experience in the operations and maintenance activities of a data centre
• Experience with M365 licensing, migration, configuration/administration, and operational support considered an asset
• Experience with IT security/cyber security best practices considered an asset
• Experience managing or supporting hybrid computing model of on premise and SaaS/IaaS/PaaS environments
• Knowledge of applicable information management and data privacy practices and laws
• Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Municipal government experience is an asset
• Must be willing to provide a current Criminal Records Check at own expense
• Must be fully immunized against COVID-19 and be willing to provide proof of immunization as part of the recruitment process
