Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has a Permanent, Full-time Utilities Operator (Maintenance Service Worker V) position available in the Public Works Department. Reporting to the Supervisor, Utilities Operator, you will assist in the operation and maintenance of the County water and wastewater systems. Knowledge of water treatment plants, pump houses, wastewater lagoons, lift stations, water distribution and wastewater collection systems is required. You will be required to participate in the on call rotation. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to establish positive rapport with the public are required.

Hours of Work: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week

This position is covered by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955 Collective Agreement.
Graduate of a NAIT Water and Wastewater Technician program or equivalent is desirable
Alberta Environment & Sustainable Resource Development (AESRD) Level 1 Certification in water and/or wastewater fields. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum AESRD Level 1 Certification in water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment and wastewater collection.
Knowledge of computer applications and SCADA software
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. A current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
