Parkland County has a casual Legislative Assistant position available within the Strategic Services Department. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Legislative Services and working closely with the Legislative Officers, the Legislative Assistant will provide administrative support with Council, committee and board meetings, including scheduling meetings and appointments, drafting correspondence, assisting with agendas, taking notes, and managing records. This position will also assist the team with general administrative duties including updating the internal and external webpage, processing invoices and purchase orders and assisting with insurance administration.
Competition Number: 22-70 Rate of Pay: $26.98 - $33.72 per hour Hours of Work: Note: this is a Casual position. There are no guaranteed hours. The successful candidate will have a flexible schedule that will vary between the hours of 8:00a.m. – 4:30p.m. Monday – Friday. Specific days/hours may be negotiable. Competition Closing Date: Monday, October 17, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. Work Location: This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work. This position will work on-site at the Parkland County Centre 53109A Hwy 779, Parkland County.

High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by post-secondary course work in business or public administration or equivalent.
Minimum of three (3) years of related office experience is required.
Experience working in municipal government or a legal firm would be considered an asset.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn and adapt to new programs quickly.
