Parkland County has a Permanent, Full-time position available for a Legal Services Coordinator. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Services and working closely with Parkland County’s external Legal Counsel, the Legal Services Coordinator provides legal file support through the preparation and review of correspondence, calendar and records management and general administrative support. The Legal Services Coordinator leads Parkland County’s corporate records management program and serves as the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Coordinator which involves working with external parties and internal staff to fulfill access to information requests and ensuring proper procedures for the collection, use, access and disclosure of corporate information.
Certificate or diploma in Legal Administration, Business or equivalent is required.
Three to five years’ administrative experience in an office environment working with FOIP, records management and/or legal experience is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Above average writing skills and proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite) are required.
Knowledge of the Municipal Government Act (MGA) and FOIP Act is required.
Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, diplomacy and tact in dealing with internal and external parties, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment when required.
Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
Competition Number: 21-54 Rate of Pay: $58,816 to $73,520 per annum. Hours of Work: 7 hours/day; 35 hours/week. Competition Closing Date: Thursday September 30, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. Benefits: Extensive benefits are offered including an option to join our Earned Day Off Program.
