This role is a remote role within the province of New Brunswick.
Under the general direction of the General Manager of Insurance, the Insurance & Risk Specialist identifies and resolves risk exposures for Canoe Insurance clients through client visits, risk inspections, preparation and delivery of seminars, and the preparation of written policies, materials, and circulars while will also be responsible for the provision of insurance services to members and will be responsible for service of various participants of the Canoe Insurance programs.
The Insurance & Risk Specialist will have access to highly confidential member and association information, and it is expected and required information be held in the strictest confidence.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Physical risk inspections at multiple locations across the Atlantic territory, including written reporting, photographs, and recommendations.
Client visits and monitoring to review policies, educate, and serve clients.
Formal presentations for individual clients, regional seminars, and conventions.
Preparation and delivery of risk management seminars,
Authoring and contributing to client circulars, newsletters, and bulletins.
Monitoring legal, political, and economic environments as they pertain to the Canoe Insurance program.
Risk Management policy development for members.
Gap analysis for member insurance programs.
Complete Member Transactions
Provide quotes for new and existing members
Collection of Accounts Receivable and Statement Distribution for MSR clients
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Risk Management field.
Knowledge and experience in dealing with local government, school board or non-profit organizations.
Thorough knowledge of commercial property and liability insurance.
Must possess strong and effective presentation skills.
Proficient in all applications of Microsoft Office.
Clean Drivers Abstract and valid class 5 license.
Currently have or successfully obtain your Property & Casualty and Life Insurance licences.
An essential prerequisite is to be Bilingual in French and English
Have or willingness to work towards Chartered Insurance Professional designation.
Have or willingness to work towards CRM (Certified Risk Manager) designation.
A combination of other education and insurance experience may be considered.
Commensurate on experience, post-secondary education (degree or industry equivalent), and determined according to the current RMA salary grid.
Includes a comprehensive benefits package plus Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP) pension after applicable waiting periods.
This position will be performed remotely in the province of New Brunswick, with required travel.
