Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Alberta Journeyperson in Instrumentation Mechanics required
- Qualified Journey Electrical is required
- Red Seal certifications preferred
- Three (3) years related experience in electronics/instrumentation repair and maintenance and digital electronics or ladder logic programming; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Required knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A valid Alberta Class Five (5) driver’s license is required (clear driving abstract is an asset).
The ideal candidate is an effective and analytical troubleshooter with the ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions with instrumentation and electrical circuitry and systems, and ability to repair them. Other skills include a comprehension of schematics, blue prints, and P&ID drawings; strong verbal and written communication skills; computer skills, and a self-starter.
Hours Per Week: 40/week. Shift work includes evenings and weekends and follows an Hours of Work Averaging Agreement work schedule as per the current CUPE 135 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Pay Scale: Instrumentation Technician – Dual Trade - $40.07/hour
Benefits: As per the Town’s HR Policy and CUPE 135 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
