One of our valued team members is retiring and we are hiring! This is a full-time Information Services Technician position. This role is a combination of I.T. and G.I.S. If you meet the following requirements, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide technical assistance, support and training to all staff and Council for printers, desktops, laptops, tablets, copiers, and other miscellaneous equipment;
Maintain servers and other network infrastructure;
Assist with all hardware upgrades and operating system updates and security patches;
Assist with designing and developing in coordination with MD staff, the MD’s G.I.S. system using data that will provide MD departments with information to assist them in their decision-making;
Responsible for creating and maintaining all the G.I.S. data layers used by other departments;
Develop the County maps and update them as required;
Assist with the Asset Management program as required;
Organizational software that will be required to support Microsoft Server, SQL, Exchange, VMWare, Diamond, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, SQL, FME and ESRI Enterprise. Training will be provided if you are inexperienced with any of the listed software;
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the department Supervisor.
Completion of post-secondary education carrying a minimum diploma or degree as a computer science or I.T./G.I.S. Technician, Technologist or in other related disciplines;
Minimum two years’ experience in I.T. or G.I.S. systems with preference for a municipal environment;
Excellent, demonstrated written and verbal communication skills;
The ability to work cooperatively and productively in a team environment;
A commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer service;
Valid Class “5” Driver’s License required.
