Leduc County is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Information Management Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Manager – Information Management Technology, this exciting opportunity is a key member of the corporate services team who assists with operational information management tasks. The technician is responsible for assisting departments with information classification queries, information retrieval requests, and adherence to the procedures and practices within the information management program. As a member of the Corporate Services team, the technician is a key contributor to the achievement of the department’s operational deliverables.

Key Responsibilities Include:
What you will do
Works with the Information Management Coordinator to support Leduc County’s information management program and day-to-day work assignments to meet operational and project deliverables.
Assists department staff with adhering to the County’s information management program for all digital and paper information.
Assists department staff with using the County’s Enterprise Content Management system and related processes.
Liaises with department staff to facilitate the application of consistent information management procedures and applications throughout the County.
Supports, educates and updates staff on information management policies, procedures, and best practices.
Assists with information retrieval requests as required.
Researches and carries out special projects, studies and reports as assigned.
Adheres to guidelines as set out in Leduc County’s policies and administrative directives.
Accountable for working in compliance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and participation in the Health, Safety and Wellness Program.
Performs related duties as required.
What you need to succeed
A diploma or degree in library sciences or information management or related discipline with two (2) years of experience in records and information management within a digital/paper environment. Knowledge of document/file classification, skills identifying different types of files and the ability to liaise with service areas and effectively gather information. Comprehensive knowledge of data and document management and electronic records management systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Nice to have
An understanding of municipal government operations and familiarity with municipal operations and knowledge of rural communities are considered assets.

We offer a competitive annual salary $59,568 - $74,460, a municipal pension plan, (3) three-week vacation allocation, and 100% employer-paid comprehensive benefits package.
The opportunity is permanent full-time and is 35 hours per week scheduled Monday to Friday, with some extended hours to meet operational requirements. The office is located at 101-1101 5 St. Nisku, AB.
