The qualifications for this position include a Degree in Human Resources, with supporting education in Labour Relations considered an asset. A minimum of 5 years’ recent experience in Human Resources, preferably in a Municipality or Government, with 3 years’ experience involving labour relations within a unionized environment is required. Applicants should have their CPHR designation, or CPHR candidacy with the ability to complete the full designation. Safety knowledge and experience, payroll knowledge and experience, with Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification are considered assets. Knowledge of HR department functions, procedures, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code are required. The preferred candidate will have a strong organizational skills and computer skills, a high level of interpersonal skills, the ability to handle sensitive documentation and confidential situations with discretion, strong communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence at all levels of the organization, and the ability to think critically, solve problems, and prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines.
