We are currently seeking the right person to fill the permanent full-time position for HR Administrator – Pension in our Human Resources Department.
As the HR Administrator – Pension, you will be responsible for administering all aspects of The City’s pension and retirement plans, from eligibility and enrolment to termination and retirement.
You will work closely with pension plan administrators.
Provide accounting support for the City's pension programs.
Perform pension audits and reconciliations.
Support the process of buy back of prior service.
Complete pension year-end processes.
Support City retirements by providing information to employees on pension and retirement processes.
As well as performing a variety of administrative functions in support of the section and department.
Key Responsibilities Include:
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
A two-year post-secondary diploma (e.g., Human Resources, Business Administration) including accounting courses. Other educational equivalencies, including CEBS, may be considered when combined with exceptional experience.
Experience & Competencies
Two years’ experience in defined benefit pension plan administration preferably for a large, complex, unionized organization.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to process a high volume of information accurately and meet strict deadlines.
Attention to detail and integrity in dealing with highly confidential / sensitive information.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to respond effectively to inquiries.
A general knowledge of other benefits’ administration and Canadian payroll would be an asset.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and basic office procedures.
Knowledge of current HR processes including HRIS software to support them.
Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
Team oriented to collaborate with the ability to work independently.
