Clearwater County is building our team of dedicated, adaptable and highly-skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians. Do you fit our needs? This is a regular full-time position, working 40 hours per week. We will require overtime and on-call to ensure our County fleet is serviced efficiently and on a timely basis.
Key Responsibilities Include:
What skills do you bring? The type of vehicles and equipment that are serviced by our mechanical team include – all levels of trucks, garbage collection vehicles, emergency vehicles, tractors, trailers, construction equipment, snowplows, brush cutters, generators, air compressors and other equipment.
We will consider registered Alberta apprentices up to seasoned heavy duty technicians. Our focus is on our team culture and who will enhance and complement the skills of our current staff.
Experience with diagnostic and repair of heavy equipment, commercial trucks
Electrical troubleshooting and repair
Hydraulic troubleshooting and repair
Emergency vehicle service and repair [asset]
Ability to read, operate and comprehend manuals and diagnostic measuring tools
Class 5 Alberta Drivers’ License [Class 3 or Class 1 is an asset]
Welding experience [asset]
Physically fit, lift/carry moderate to heavy objects
Good motor coordination/manual dexterity skills
Proficient computer literacy skills.
Great attitude and commitment to high quality job performance
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Adaptive, cooperative and self-initiative abilities
Commercial Vehicle Inspection license [Or must be eligible for CVI Program]
Current First Aid/CPR Certificate.
Rate of pay will commensurate with certification and experience, starting at $30.99/hr
