Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has a temporary, full-time position available within the Information Services Department for a Geographic Information Systems Technologist working from June to approximately December, 2022*. Under the direction of the Manager, Business Solutions, the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technologist position performs varied tasks to maintain the County’s enterprise GIS data while fulfilling mapping and analysis requests primarily from the Engineering Services department. This position also provides some training and GIS Help Desk support to County departmental users.
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Geographic Information Systems, Geography or a related discipline is required.
Minimum of three (3) years’ related experience and fluency in ESRI products is required.
Must be knowledgeable in Geodatabase design, creation, and editing and Cartographic principles.
GIS trouble shooting skills and technical GIS training skills is required.
Excellent communication skills, customer service skills and attention to detail is required.
Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Rate of Pay: $59,408 to $74,260 per annum. Hours of Work: 7 hours/day; 35 hours/week Benefits: Extensive benefits are offered including an option to join our Earned Day Off Program.
