Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has a temporary, full-time position available within the Information Services Department for a Geographic Information Systems Technologist II for approximately 6 months. Under the direction of the Manager, Business Solutions, the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technologist II performs intermediate level GIS tasks to maintain the County’s enterprise GIS data and fulfill complex mapping and analysis requests from various County departments. This position also provides some training and Help Desk support to County Departmental users.
Rate of Pay: $64,695 to $80,869 per annum.
Hours of Work: 7 hours/day; 35 hours/week

Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Geographic Information Systems, Geography or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ related experience and fluency in ESRI products is required.
- Must be knowledgeable in Geodatabase design, creation, and editing and Cartographic principles.
- GIS trouble shooting skills and technical GIS training skills is required.
- Excellent communication skills, customer service skills and attention to detail is required.
- Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
