Fleet Services Labourer

$45,884.80 - $57,408.00 per annum

We are currently recruiting for a permanent Fleet Services Labourer.
About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Lead, Fleet Services, the Fleet Services Labourer assists the Journeyman Technicians in carrying out vehicle and equipment maintenance and repairs. This position assists with shuttling vehicles, deals with vendors, carries out shop maintenance, maintains supplies and carries out other general shop duties as required.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with basic repairs and servicing of automotive, heavy equipment and small gas-powered equipment
- Shuttling vehicles to vendors for repairs
- Contact vendors to order required parts (with supervisor's assistance)
- Travel to vendors to pick up pre-ordered parts or return parts
- Cleaning of shop and shop equipment, including organizing parts room
- Cleaning of vehicles
- Maintain records of work performed on City equipment
Requirements:
You are the successful candidate for this position if you have the following:
- High School Diploma
- Class 3 driver's license with airbrake endorsement (or the ability to obtain within one year of employment)
- Understanding and adhering to OH&S policies and practices
- Experience in servicing vehicles and small engines is an asset
- Ability to operate a wide range of equipment within a municipal environment is an asset
- The successful candidate must be willing to provide a current driver's abstract at your expense
- Must be fully immunized against COVID-19 and willing to provide proof of immunization as part of the recruitment process
