Key Responsibilities Include:

Parkland County has casual Flagperson positions available in the Road Maintenance & Drainage Services Departments for approximately five (5) months, commencing in May of 2022. Reporting to the Surfacing Foreman or General Foreman, and stationed in either Stony Plain or Tomahawk, you will provide traffic control/directions to motoring public traveling through work areas with some labour duties required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. You will be supplied with protective equipment (coveralls, hard hat, and fluorescent reflectorized vest) which must be worn when applicable. You must supply your own CSA approved steel toe footwear, which must be in good condition and worn when applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification as a Flagperson is desirable, however training will be provided.

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Upon hire, a current Driver’s Abstract and satisfactory driving record must be provided.

Ability to relay information in a quick & courteous manner.

Rate of Pay: $20.01 per hour (2021 Rate)

Hours of Work: As Required. Hours may vary significantly depending on weather and operational conditions. Extensive overtime may be required.

This position is covered by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955 Collective Agreement.
