  • Maintain records of municipal owned assets.

  • Prepare capital asset invoice batches including coding and obtaining correct authorization.

  • Liaise with Accounts Payable Clerk to ensure issuance of all payments related to capital items.

  • Ensure all capital expenditures are appropriately recorded as assets in the period they were acquired/built – and insurance records are correct.
  
  
  
  

• Monitor/balance accounts to ensure year-end processing and recording of amortization.

  • Working with department heads ensure that any grant reporting milestones are completed in a timely manner for review by the Director of Corporate Services prior to submission.

  • Research and report regularly to the Director of Corporate Services an active listing of grants the County would be eligible to apply for.
  
  
  
  

• Coordinate with the appropriate departments to ensure that all grant.

  • Assists departments with the RFP and Contract process as a finance representative – ensuring contract completions – attends bid-tender and proposal openings if required.

  • Facilitates project costing, progress billings, holdbacks as they relate to capital projects and contracts.
  
  
  
  

• Create and/or review purchase orders for capital expenditures ensuring that the purchases are in accordance with County policy and procedure

  • Assist in any other related duties or special projects as assigned by the Director of Corporate Services.

  • Cross-train, support and back up other Financial positions within the Corporate Services department.
  
  
  
  

• Understand and adhere to the policies, principles and practices of OH&S legislation, and the County’s requirements, as these obligations pertain to this role.
