Finance Analyst II – Corporate Services
Full Time – Competitive Benefits Package – Salary will be dependent on education and experience
Salary Range: $61,693 to $73,667/annum or $$67,864 to $81,031/per annum
35 - hour work week Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm – 1 hour unpaid lunch
Key Responsibilities Include:
The Position:
This position is part of a multi-functional team within the Corporate Services Department. As such, this position will administer the day-to-day activities related to the County’s Insurance Program, fixed assets, GL maintenance, capital projects and ad hoc queries. This position will support the Finance Analyst III position with the County departments during the annual budget cycle. This role will provide support to finance team members to cover for vacations and peak periods of customer interaction. May be involved in working on projects including business process improvement and policy & procedure development. Will also provide departmental and organizational reporting as required.

Requirements:
The Candidate:
- Completion of Grade 12 or GED equivalent combined with a post-secondary diploma or university degree in a finance or accounting related discipline; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
- Asset Management Certificate and experience in asset management systems maintaining public infrastructure is considered an asset;
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in full cycle accounting, preferably in a municipal setting;
- Able to process information in a confidential manner and able to maintain a high level of accuracy;
- Able to function in an environment with multiple priorities that requires flexibility duties performed; demonstrated organizational ability and composure to work within specific timeframes, in a fast-paced climate;
- Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy, tact and discretion in dealing with requests, complaints and clarification of information;
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written, communication skills.
- The ability to work with the public and staff at all levels within the County with minimal supervision in a multiple task environment; and
- High degree of competency in using computers in the technical areas of word processing, spreadsheets, databases and financial accounting software. Advanced MS Excel is an asset.
