The City of Leduc is currently recruiting for a full-time term Family Home Visitor Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Reporting to the Manager, FCSS, the Family Home Visitor Coordinator will provide supervision and direction to the new Family Resource Network Team in addition to maintaining a moderate case load of home visitation and family support clients. With the overall goal to strengthen and build our communities’ children, youth and families, this new program will serve the full spectrum of demographics (0-18) with a focus on providing a full continuum of preventative support services for the family as a whole. This will include universal, targeted and intensive programming via direct home visitation, family supports, caregiver capacity, social connections, and child development and well-being opportunities.
The successful candidate will have, at minimum, a diploma in social services and/or human services discipline, have a minimum of five years’ experience in related supervision and working one-on-one with individuals and high risk families, as well as working in partnerships with a variety of agencies; demonstrating creative problem solving, conflict resolution, communication and decision making skills. Suicide intervention, mental health first aid, and standard first aid are required, as well as experience in crisis intervention, specifically related to working with children, adolescents and families. Proven knowledge of housing, employment, local social services and supportive agencies. Training in Reflective Supervision, PICCOLO, Great Kids, Triple P, Circle of Security, and Nobody’s Perfect would be considered an asset. Experience in Emergency Social Services is an asset. Specialized knowledge of adolescent development, mental health and addictions would be an asset.
The successful candidate must be willing to provide a clean Child Intervention Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check as part of the hiring process. Must also have a vehicle and be willing to work flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends.
