Requirements:
The successful candidate will have, at minimum, a diploma in social services and/or human services discipline, have a minimum of five years’ experience in related supervision and working one-on-one with individuals and high risk families, as well as working in partnerships with a variety of agencies; demonstrating creative problem solving, conflict resolution, communication and decision making skills. Suicide intervention, mental health first aid, and standard first aid are required, as well as experience in crisis intervention, specifically related to working with children, adolescents and families. Proven knowledge of housing, employment, local social services and supportive agencies. Training in Reflective Supervision, PICCOLO, Great Kids, Triple P, Circle of Security, and Nobody’s Perfect would be considered an asset. Experience in Emergency Social Services is an asset. Specialized knowledge of adolescent development, mental health and addictions would be an asset.
The successful candidate must be willing to provide a clean Child Intervention Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check as part of the hiring process. Must also have a vehicle and be willing to work flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends.
