The Municipal District of Lesser Slave River (MD) requires a seasonal Infrastructure Maintenance Technician for the approximate period of May to September 2022. This position will perform a 40-hour workweek based on a rotating schedule including weekends. This position will report to the Infrastructure Maintenance Supervisor and will be based out of the MD Shop in Slave Lake, Alberta.
The successful candidate will assist with the maintenance and repair of MD-owned facilities, properties and open spaces.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Duties may include (but are not limited to):
Assisting with basic maintenance and repairs to exteriors and interiors of MD buildings and recreational facilities including roofing, windows, doors, lighting, flooring, drainage, plumbing, concrete work, carpentry, painting, signage, boardwalk maintenance and small construction projects
Operating gas, electric, and air-powered equipment plus basic carpentry hand tools to install, repair, replace, and perform basic restoration and/or maintenance services
Performing duties requiring mild, medium, and/or heavy physical labour including lifting, carrying, climbing, and kneeling
Other duties as required
Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence
Basic First Aid certificate.
Experience in construction type work utilizing shop and hand tools
Pre-employment carpentry experience would be an asset
Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors
Salary Range: $17.69 - $24.53/hour, dependent upon education and experience
