Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has a temporary, full-time position available in the Public Works Department for a Facilities Maintenance Technician until approximately December 2022. Under the direction of the General Supervisor, Facilities, this position will perform inspections, facility maintenance and general duties related to Parkland County owned buildings, grounds and other facilities that are under the control of Parkland County. The successful candidate will perform regulatory and non-regulatory inspections on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical and building systems, and is responsible for coordinating repairs and maintenance for items identified during inspections. This position will also assist with annual and scheduled preventative maintenance in addition to performing and assisting with general duties within facilities operations.
Post-secondary education or Trade Certificate in a related discipline
Must possess 5th Class Power Engineering certification
2-4 years of related experience in operation and maintenance of facilities systems (including computer-based systems), operation and maintenance of boiler systems (buildings and facilities), operation of heating, ventilation and air condition systems, in addition to experience in structural, electrical, and plumbing is required.
Must possess well-developed communication and customer service skills along with strong technical competencies.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Upon hire, a current commercial Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
Rate of Pay: Competitive salary commensurate with education and experience
Hours of Work: 7 hours/day; 35 hours/week (participation in the afterhours standby schedule rotation is required)
